From Edwin Olofu, Kano

Concerned indigenes of Yobe State northern Senatorial district have raised alarm over plot to stop the zone from participating in the 2015 governorship election in the state under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) by some powerful forces in the state.

Spokesman of the group, Alhaji Mohammed Gaskanta who made the disclosure shortly after an emergency meeting held in Kano, said they have uncovered plans by some powerful individuals in the state to edge out aspirants from the zone that have paid money and have been denied the form.

Gaskanta vowed to resist such moves he described as undemocratic, hinting that two illustrious sons of the Yobe north Senatorial have already paid their money but are being denied the form by the state headquarters.

He gave the names of the two aspirants as Engineer Mustapha Maihaja and Alhaji Mohammed Nabogaji both from Yobe north Senatorial district, pleading with the national headquarters of the party of the APC to intervene.

He further hinted that they are suspecting a foul play, to deny them the opportunity to vie for the governorship seat, probing the unavailability of the forms of Senatorial and governorship seats in the state secretariat after aspirants have paid while positions such as that of the House of Representatives and state House of Assembly are available for sales.
