In spite of President Goodluck Jonathan’s adoption by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as the party’s sole candidate for the 2015 presidential election, a twist has occurred when another aspirant claiming right for the position emerged.

The new aspirant, Dr. Abduljalil Tafawa Balewa who stormed the PDP National Headquarters yesterday claimed to have been unjustly denied the collection of the expression of interest for the Presidential nomination form by the officers in charge at the PDP.

Dr. Tafawa Balewa who hails from Bauchi State said he has already paid the sum of N22 million to a designated PDP account at the Zenith Bank with account number 102436478 yesterday.

The presidential aspirant, who held a press briefing, challenged the PDP National office for declining him access to the form with party officials informing him that the forms are inadequate for now.

He said “I wonder why so many forms were sold to over 200 governorship aspirants that would jostle for just 36 states and only a single form would be provided for the presidential race”.

He said, “even the so called decision of endorsement of President Jonathan as a sole candidate by the PDP governors forum is not sincere as they are only a minute fraction that are not representing the entire interest of the people”, he said.

He said nothing stops his aspiration as more than 40 million Nigerians have registered their desire for a change in the PDP presidency.
