The Senior Special Assistant to the Nasarawa State Governor on Media and Press Affairs, Sani Musa Mairiga, has called on the people of the state to be patient and make more sacrifices towards ensuring the success and sustenance of the dividends of democracy.

The media aide’s call was contained in a press statement signed and made available to newsmen, with Mairiga saying that such sacrifices were necessary to focus and create opportunities for the hopeless and secure brighter future for the people of Nasarawa State.

Mairiga said Governor Umar Tanko Al-makura’s  administration would remain focused in its transformation agenda by promoting only programmes and policies that would impact positively on the lives of the  people of Nasarawa State, adding that the governor  is  working  hard to ensure that peace and mutual co-existence prevail in the entire state.

“Some desperate politicians are hell bent on  making the state ungovernable and make us lose focus, but God in his infinite  mercy and wisdom has not allowed their evil machinations to see the light of the day” he said.

He thanked the people for supporting the governor and his administration, adding that their support had enabled Al-makura record many successes within a short period. “May I, once again urge you to shun all forms of vices and be our brother’s keeper as we enter into another election period. We should also endeavour to continue to pray for sustainable peace and unity in our state and dear country as it is the panacea for development.

The statement said Governor Al-makura has made steady progress in his modest effort to address daunting developmental challenges in the state. Because when he assumed office in 2011 the reality on ground was one of dilapidated basic infrastructure, widespread poverty, inefficient healthcare system, below average performance in the education sector, but today he has changed all these for the good and has put smiles on the hitherto forlorn faces of the people of the state.

“What the PDP failed to achieve in 12 years of its misrule in Nasarawa State, the APC led government has done it in less than three and half years, this great achievement of a political icon and a man of proven integrity is worthy of commendation” Mairiga said.
