After a series of meetings by the leaders of the All Progressives Congress. Presidential candidate of the party, Muhammadu Buhari will today announce his running mate. National chairman of the party, John Oyegun has said.
Buhari will select his running mate that would bolster APC’s chances of taking over power from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), National chairman of the party John Oyegun has said.
Addressing newsmen after, the National Working Committee NWC meeting at the national secretariat of the party in Abuja, Oyegun said the party has consulted with the candidate and have reached an agreement with him on the matter.
“The candidate will speak to you people, (the reporters), I have a feeling he will speak to you tomorrow. Is it the candidate that is picking his running mate or the party ? and he will address on it.
The aspirants being considered are Governors Rotimi Amaechi(Rivers), Babatunde Fashola(Lagos), Adams Oshiomhole (Edo) and a former Lagos State Commissioner for Justice, Prof. Yemi Osibajo.
Others whose names came up were former governors Dr. Kayode Fayemi (Ekiti State), former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola (Osun State) and former governor Adeniyi Adebayo (Ekiti State).
