Let’s shun religious and ethnic politics – Hon. Zainab

Date:

From Ado Abubakar Musa, Jos

A member representing Quanpan South constituency in the Plateau State House of Assembly, Hon. Zainab Dogo has called on Nigerians to shun religious and ethnic politics just as she said such negative tendencies would not help the development of the country.

Dogo who is a PDP member in the state assembly and currently also a candidate to represent the party in the state legislature come 2015 election, alleged that those who often introduce religious and tribal sentiments into the country’s politics were hypocrites who have nothing to offer but to cheat the common people.

She said, “It is unfortunate that today’s politicking in the country is attached to religion and politics and that is why our politics has been described as nasty. I think one should always speak for him or herself at the grass root that he or she is ready to represent in any capacity irrespective of religious or ethnic sentiment because nobody has chosen to belong to any religion or tribe”.

Dogo who spoke at the state assembly complex however said that her past record as a member has shown that she would defeat her opponent in the February general election, stressing that she was not the only candidate that contested the party primaries for the position but eventually won and same thing would follow.

According to her, having concentrated 70 percent on education, the next in her agenda was to lay emphasis on social development of her constituency.
