Group under the aegis of Independent Hajj Reporters yesterday called on Federal Government to deploy available security machinery and seek the assistance of international community to help find the abducted girls.
The group also called on civil societies, human right activists to come together and lead the ongoing clamour for the release of 276 abducted girls from Chibok, Borno state of Nigeria.
In a statement signed yesterday in Kaduna by its national coordinator, Ibrahim Muhammed and publicity secretary, Abubakar Mahmoud made available to newsmen, the group said the government should bring back the girls immediately.
“ Why is it difficult for the super powers to rally together and help Nigeria in search of the abducted girls? We need all the available assistance from anywhere in the world as Nigeria leaders has demonstrated a glaring incompetence. Bring back our girls.
“The case of abducted school girls from Chibok in Borno state is a challenge to all civil societies and human right activists in Nigeria precisely, and the world in general. It has brought to fore the universality of human rights being championed by the west as anchored by civil societies.
“ It is also a challenge to United Nations and other international agencies whose crusade for girls’ child education remains of top priority. These are over 276 young school girls kidnapped by unknown forces in their quest to have education.
“Is there anything more discouraging to girls’ child education than this madness? They should come to our aid and help bring back our girls. They are ours and not theirs,” he said
The statement also condemned the attempt by some wicked forces to trivialize and reduce the safety of the lives of over 276 innocent girls into religious identities and political leanings.
The group further advised “leaders to put themselves in the shoes of the parents of the abducted girls and imagine how sorrowful such traumatic experience could be.
