Abuja AAU Alumni Chapter elects new exco

The Ambrose Alli University (AAU) Alumni (Abuja chapter) has elected a new set of executives, to pilot its affairs in the next two years.

The election, which held on Sunday, August 18 at the Habitat resort and park, Garki Abuja. saw the emergence of Derrick Osalenne Sadoh as chairman, Akonwe Christian (vice chairman); Rolandson Ogiebo (Secretary);  Asiriuwa Joel Aifuwa (Assistant Secretary);  Peter Tochukwu (legal Adviser), and Osaro Sylvia (treasurer).

Other newly-elected officials are: Emmanuel Aleakhue (Organising Secretary);  Zanete Kate Enadeghe (Financial  Secretary), as well as Josephine O. Eigbe (Publicity Secretary).

Apart from the chairmanship position, which was contested for by Sadoh (13 votes), and  Marcel Dim-Udebuani Agams (3 votes), all other officials  were elected unopposed, after their respective candidacies were affirmed by the “general house”.

A summary report by the electoral commission (ELECO) read thus: “Summary Report on the AAU Alumni Association Abuja Branch Election.”We are pleased to inform you about the successful conclusion of our recent elections for various positions within the AAU Alumni Association Abuja Branch.

“Out of the 16 total votes cast, Derrick Osalenne Sadoh emerged as the winner and was subsequently elected as the new Chairman of the AAU Alumni Association Abuja Branch.

“Swearing-In Ceremony: Immediately following the election, the newly elected Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, and Publicity Secretary who were physically present were sworn into office.

“It was unanimously agreed by the house that any other candidates who were not present for the election and swearing-in would have their seats declared vacant if they do not present themselves for swearing-in at the next Alumni meeting.

“We congratulate all the newly elected officers and look forward to their contributions towards the growth and success of our association.Thank you all for your participation and support”.
