The Kaduna State Police Command has dismantled two suspected bandit hideouts and restored normalcy to parts of Makarfi Local Government Area following a clearance operation conducted on Friday, August 29, 2026.
In a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, the Command said its operatives, in collaboration with personnel of the Kaduna State Vigilance Service in Makarfi, engaged bandits during the operation at about 8:00 a.m.
According to the statement, the successful operation was based on credible intelligence provided by members of the community. The intelligence led to raids on suspected bandit enclaves near Durum and Danguzuri, extending to the boundary with Kano State.
“During the operation, two structures identified as hideouts used by bandits to hold abducted victims at Rugar Mijin Goggo and Unguwar Maryamu, Danguzuri, were dismantled,” Hassan stated.
He said joint security patrols were still ongoing in the area, adding that normalcy had been restored and the affected communities were now calm.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Rabiu Muhammad, PSC, mni, commended the communities for their cooperation and praised the gallantry of the operatives involved in the operation.
Muhammad reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to sustaining the fight against banditry and other forms of criminal activity across the state.
The Command also urged members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies to support ongoing security operations.
The statement noted that the operation was part of the Command’s sustained efforts to restrict the movement of bandits and ensure the safety of lives and property across Kaduna State.
