The Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Abuja Chapter, on Wednesday formally endorsed Alhaji Chief Solademi Abdulmajid as the preferred candidate for the chairmanship of the association’s Abuja Airport Chapter.

This declaration of support came during the official flag-off of Abdulmajid’s campaign, with the chapter emphasizing its commitment to a rotational leadership system.

Stakeholders reiterated the need to honor a gentleman’s agreement that shifts the chairmanship to the Southwest region.

Alhaji Prince Badmos Ayo, a founding father of ANLCA, praised Abdulmajid’s leadership potential, stating that his administration would herald a positive transformation for the chapter.

“We contribute significantly to the country’s revenue generation through customs operations,” Ayo said. “With Abdulmajid, we can rebuild the foundation for excellence and efficiency.”

In his campaign speech, Abdulmajid vowed to prioritize integrity, inclusiveness, and innovation.

“I offer myself to serve as your chairman, promising transparency, accountability, and the welfare of our members,” he said.

“Together, we can transform ANLCA into a stronger and more united body.”

The immediate past chairman, Alhaji Abdulrahir Abdulsalam, described Abdulmajid as a leader of integrity with the capacity to deliver on expectations.

He underscored the importance of respecting the rotational leadership system, which grants the Southwest region the chairmanship for the next two tenures.

“We have a gentleman’s agreement to rotate the chairmanship, and it is only fair to honor that,” Abdulsalam said.
