Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Highway will improve security, increase Investment – IPAC

The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) Kaduna State Chapter has commended Kaduna State Governor Senator Uba San for his efforts in uplifting the state’s socio-economic landscape through his agitation for the speedy completion of the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Federal Highway.

The State Chairman Hon. Ahmed Tijjani Mustapha, asserted this during a press conference held in Kaduna yesterday.

According to him, IPAC, the main umbrella body of all the 19 political Parties in Nigeria, is proud to express that the projects are a testament to President Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s commitment to infrastructural development.

The Chairman added that the road projects, which cover 700km, featuring concrete-reinforced pavement, solar-powered lighting, and CCTV surveillance, will improve the movement of persons and goods and ensure adequate security coverage.

He disclosed that information available to IPAC revealed that N252 billion has been paid to the contracting firm, with a new firm awarded the project after the previous contract with Julius Berger was terminated.

While appreciating the collaborative efforts of the Federal and state governments in driving the project forward, Hon. Ahmed Tijjani Mustapha emphasizes the importance of completing the project, which will undoubtedly bring relief and development to the communities along the road.

The IPAC Chairman called for Close monitoring and strict supervision during the work to prevent it from being abandoned due to corruption as witnessed in the past.

“The council urges the government to ensure the project’s long-term sustainability and impact.

“The reconstruction of the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano federal road will benefit the local economy in several ways:Job Creation, increased Economic Activity, Boost to Local Businesses, Improved Security, Increased Investment and Economic Growth, enhanced connectivity, and reduced transportation costs.

“Overall, the project will have a positive impact on the local economy, contributing to economic growth, job creation, and improved living standards for residents in the region,” he explained.
