ACPN offers free medical services to Nasarawa state Police Command

The Association of Community Pharmacist of Nigeria (ACPN), Nasarawa state chapter has offered free medical services to the Nasarawa state Police command in commemoration of their 2018 Medical Outreach.
The event took place at the Nasarawa state Police Command Headquarters yesterday in Lafia, the state capital.
Chairman of the ACPN Pharmacist Ikechukwu Okwor in Nasarawa state opined that the effort is aimed at giving back to the society and the police were chosen for 2018 medical outreach because of the critical role they play in the society.
According to him, “What we are doing today is trying to give back to the society and we have chosen the police because these are people who work from morning till night and hardly have time to go for checkups.
“So what we are doing is free medical checkups. We check their blood pressure, sugar level; advised them on deworming and so many other things. A policeman should be healthy in order to deliver effectively.
That is why we are here today,” he said.
The chairman further said that ACPN officials in the state were particular about deworming because of the negative health impact it has on humans, especially adults who according to him, often ignore it.
“Every adult, every child from six months up should take drugs for deworming every three months so as to prevent health challenges.”
