However, a grassroots politician and an official of the party in the council, Honourable Mark Dauda, told journalists that the kidnapping came barely few hours to the hosting of the presidential/gubernatorial campaign of the party by the state Governor, Muhammadu Umaru Jirilla.
Dauda said the kidnappers are now demanding for N20 million for the release of their victim.
“We are negotiating with the kidnappers and they are demanding for N20 million as ransom for his release and that is all I can tell for now”, Dauda stressed.
An unconfirmed report being speculated in the area is that the officials had already released N15million to the kidnappers out of the funds budgeted for the campaign of the Governor in the council.
