Adamawa APC condemns assault on Zonal National Vice Chairman

The leadership of the All Progressives Congress,APC, in Adamawa state has condemned in strongest terms the physical assault meted on the National Vice Chairman in charge of North-East, Comrade Salihu Mustapha at a Zonal consultative forum in Gombe state recently.

Recalled that on Sunday 15th June,2025 at the venue of the meeting in Gombe state, some members of the party believed to be supporters of the Vice President, Kassim Shettima accused Comrade Salihu Mustapha of betrayal for not announcing the name of Kassim Shettima as running mate while officially declaring the endorsement of President Bola Tinubu as candidate of the party for 2027  presidential election.

A situation that created serious chaotic atmosphere where both APC National Chairman, former Governor Umaru Abdullahi Ganduje and Comrade Salihu Mustapha were called unprintable names which later the venue turned in to a boxing ring.

Speaking at a press conference in Yola Thursday,Chairman of the party, Barrister Shuaibu Idris disclosed the position of the party protesting such attack on the National Zonal Vice Chairman insisting that violence must not be allowed in politics.

Barrister Idris explained that neither comrade Mustapha nor the party has the right to pick running mate for a presidential or Governorship candidate.
