In an effort to improve water distribution and serene environment for the communities in Adamawa state, Water Resources Ministry in partnership with European Union (EU), have formed ‘ State Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene Association.
Membership of the Association were driven from the local branches of the Water Sanitation Hygiene Committees ( WASHCOMS) and Water Consumer Association (WCA), for efficient hygiene monitoring an evaluation in the state.
Commissioner for Water resources, Mr. Ahmad Rufa’i pointed out that the body would be recognized by the National Water Resource Policy for peer reviewing and cross breeding of ideas on how best to improve hygiene sanitation in the state.
Rufai who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Hajiya Ladi Banu at theone day workshop for the members in Yola said the formation of the body was part of the financial MoU singed between state government and EU to coordinate and transform water activities especially in the rural communities.
