Adamawa govt partners NEDC on schools renovation

The Adamawa state government has collaborated with the North East Development Commission, NEDC, to renovate more schools that were destroyed by the Boko Haram Insurgency in the state.

Head of the state Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency (PAWECA),Aishatu Bawa Bello made the disclosure at a press conference in Yola at the weekend, stressing that the Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s administration has been creating ways for the populace to benefit from dividends of democracy.

Mrs Bello announced that over 20,000 beneficiaries have accessed various skills acquisition and empowerment programmes by the Agency since the inception of Governor Fintiri’s government, noting that N4.4 billion has so far expended on the project.

Bello explained that among the support and intervention given to the people included ; training of starters, technical support to business owners and entrepreneurs as well as allocating social welfare packages to those in dire need.
