The Deputy Governor of Adamawa State, Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta, has reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to the protection of lives and property in the face of ongoing security challenges.
Farauta gave the assurance on Thursday in Yola while receiving the Theatre Commander, Joint Task Force North-East, Operation Hadin Kai, Maj.-Gen. Abdulsalam Abubakar.
She expressed appreciation to the military delegation for their visit and continued support in addressing security concerns in the state.
“I want to thank you for taking out time to be in Adamawa to condole with us; we are most grateful,” she said.
The deputy governor assured that the state government would sustain its support for security agencies to maintain peace and stability.
“I want to let you know that Adamawa is a safe haven, and government will do all that is needed to ensure the state remains safe,” she added.
Farauta noted that the government would strengthen collaboration with security agencies and enhance safety across communities, adding that investments in human capital development and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) would further boost security operations and response mechanisms.
Earlier, Maj.-Gen. Abubakar said the visit was part of an operational assessment aimed at strengthening the state’s security architecture.
He explained that the exercise would improve response time and enhance early warning systems to prevent security threats.
The theatre commander also conveyed condolences on behalf of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu, over recent insurgent attacks in parts of the state.
“I want to convey condolences to the people of Adamawa over the recent loss of innocent citizens. It is a serious concern, and that is why I am here under the directive of the Chief of Army Staff,” he said.
Abubakar added that the military would continue to collaborate with relevant stakeholders to improve operational efficiency and overall security outcomes in the state.
