The Adamawa state government has announced 17th November 2020, as commencement date of investigation in the police brutality and other human rights violations related cases by police in the state.
Permanent secretary security, Suleiman Usman in a press statement issued in Yola, Tuesday, stated that the panel of inquiry set up by the government will swing in to action to ascertain police brutality,human rights abuses or related extra-judicial killings in the state.
It further explained that the panel is inviting memoranda,complains and petitions of police brutality and torture from affected victims.
It added that the complains from the public can be in written or oral testimony which can be delivered to the panel secretariat situated at the Universal Basic Education Board conference hall from 9:00am daily.
