Stakeholders of the peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa state have commended the selection of African leaders from South Africa, Euthiopia, Ghana Congo and Cote Divoire to look into the terrorism problem in the North Eastern part of the country.

A statement signed by Air Commodore Dan Sulieman at the end of the party’s meeting in Abuja, recently said the party was mindful of the Federal Government’s efforts to stem the tide of reckless killings of innocent people by the Boko Haram terrorist group.

“We are confident that this powerful body shall decisively deal with the challenges of terrorism, not only in Nigeria, but in the African continent as a whole.

“The Nigerian leader, President Goodluck Jonathan deserves our support and commendation for his doggedness and untiring efforts to stem the tide of insurgency in the country, despite all odds”, they stated.

They commended the efforts of the Nigerian Military in the fight against terrorism, adding that the Adamawa state PDP and indeed many Nigerians were “sickened by the pettiness of cheap political gimmicks concerning the horrible events.”

Speaking further they condemned the state governor, Admiral Murtala Nyako, for what they described as a reckless statement against the Federal government and the Nigerian Military.

“Members of this group also want to use this medium to condemn the Governor, Murtala Nyako, over his careless statement, attributing insurgency in the North East to both the President and the country’s Military. To us, his allegations are baseless, null and void, most especially when he could not attach verifiable evidence to buttress any of his claims.”

They enjoined the governor to focus more on providing the needs of the people noting however that the governor had failed in that regard.

The stakeholders described the recent bomb blast at Kabang, a suburb of Mubi Local Government Area of the state, “as a huge let down to residents, victims and the relations in the area.”
