The Rector of the Adamawa state polytechnic (SPY), Dr.  Muhammad Toungos has assured graduates yet to receive their certificates after completion of studies with other Institutions affiliated to the institution that efforts are on  to get them for collection by owners.

Recall that a group of affected students earlier wrote a petition which was privy to this reporter, accusing officials of the polytechnic for not doing the needful in payment of the necessary fees for the affiliated institutions to release their graduation certificates.

Dr.Toungos explained in an interview with this medium weekend that, the Polytechnic is  making relentless efforts to resolving the lingering issue with all the concerned institutions across the country.

Toungos regretted that, the inability of the affected students  to collect their certificates was  caused by communication gabs from the previous administrations of the polytechnic but the institution’s Governing council and its visitor, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri have already waded in to the matter administratively.

He explained that when he assumed office, he inherited a backlog of unresolved certificates dating as far back as 2013. Since then, he has been working closely with former rectors, the state government, and affiliated institutions across Nigeria to ensure that all pending certificates are processed and issued.

He emphasized that, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has allocated funds to facilitate the release of these certificates. However, due to the sheer number of students affected, many certificates are still being processed.
