Head of Civil Service of the Federation’s office razed by fire, investigation ordered

The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack had assured that a thorough investigation would be carried out to determine the immediate cause of the fire incident that occured in the Head of Service building at the Federal Secretariat Complex,3 Phase II, Abuja.
The step, she pointed out, became necessary in order to avert future occurrence and also assess the structural integrity of the building.
Mrs Walson-Jack said this on Monday after conducting an assessment visit to the scene of a fire incident.
The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation commended the Federal Fire Service and all emergency responders for their promptness and efficiency in containing the situation.
The fire outbreak, which was detected in the early hours, affected the 4th Floor of Block C, housing the National Board for Technology Incubation, according to a press statement by Mrs. Eno Olotu, Director, Press and Public Relations
Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.
Mrs Olotu, in a press statement issued on the fire outbreak, said,
“Following the containment of the fire, necessary precautionary measures have been implemented to secure the affected area.
“A comprehensive assessment is currently underway to ascertain the extent of the damage to the property.
“The Office wishes to confirm that no casualties were recorded as a result of the incident, and all staff members on the affected floor were safely evacuated without injury.
“The safety and well-being of all civil servants and visitors remain our foremost priority”, the statement said.
