Adeyeye wants PDP ward congress in Ekiti cancelled

Date:

From Ayodele Samuel, Lagos

Afenifere Chieftain and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, has said that the party Ward Congress yesterday, must be repeated in seven Local Governments in the state.

Reacting to the conduct of the Ward Congress, Adeyeye said; “Electoral Officers sent to my own Local Government, Ise/Orun and four others were diverted to unknown destinations while the materials were hijacked by thugs in Ado and Gbonyin Local Governments. The Electoral Officer sent to Ado Local Government, Tajudeen Arowolo told that police in his handwritten statement that it was one Arinka, a known supporter of Ayo Fayose, that led the thugs who snatched the materials.”

He said; “Those saddled with the duties of conducting the Congress in Ekiti West, Ekiti South West, Emure and Ise/Orun Local Government areas simply collected the election materials from the party secretariat in Ado-Ekiti and absconded. Our party chairmen in the local governments waited for them, but they did not show up.

“This they did in connivance with former Governor, Ayo Fayose and one just imagine how anyone could want to perpetrate this kind of fraud even in Ise/Orun, my own Local Government.

“It is therefore our demand that the Congress must be held in the seven local government areas where the exercise did not hold Wednesday.”
