ADP denies PDP alliance for Edo gober

National Chairman of Action Democratic Party (ADP), Sani Yabagi, has dismissed the report that the party has reached a deal for alliance with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the September Governorship election in Edo State.

Yabagi said this during a press conference at the party’s national secretariat in Asokoro, Abuja.

According to him, the clarification became necessary given the news allegedly making the rounds that his party had collapsed its structures into that of the PDP ahead of the election in the state.

To this end, he told the people of Edo state to forget about the speculation, assuring them that ADP will contest the election for victory.

“We gathered from the press that a spokesman of the PDP announced that the state executive of ADP has collapsed its structures into PDP. It is a lie from the pit of hell.

“Contrary to the speculation, it is the PDP members that are talking to us because they don’t believe in the viability of Governor Godwin Obaseki, because even if he wins the forthcoming election they believe that Court will eventually decide who becomes the next governor of Edo state but we are confident of our viable candidate.

“ADP is ready and will win the forthcoming governorship election in Edo and Ondo states.

“We are ready in Edo state and all our structures are intact. We implore Nigerians to disregard some political jobbers who are not on our party’s register but claimed to have defected to PDP. These charlatans are never members of our great party abinitio.

“ADP has a credle candidate to run for the poll. We want INEC to know that. We are the credible alternative. Both APC and PDP have ruled all these years and nothing has changed. We believe that ADP is that party everyone”, Yabaji told journalists in Abuja.
