Aduda donates cash to GSS Gwagwalada for sports development

The senator representing the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) at Nigeria Senate the National Assembly, senator Philip Tanimu Aduda , has donated the sum of two hundred thousand naira (N200,000) to the Government Secondary School (GSS) Gwagwalada, for the sports development in the school.

Aduda, who made the donation during the 15th annual inter-house sports competition of the school, assured that he would continue to do his best to assist the school in other areas.

He advised the students to devote their time on both academics and extral- curricular activities, while warning them against social vices in the school.

The senator who was the ex-student of the school, however, commended the staff for their efforts towards the progress of the school.

Earlier, the principal of the school, Mohammed Sani Ladan, appealed to the FCT education Board to upgrade sporting facilities especially the tennis courts, in the school.

He also called for the provision of footballs; rackets, nets relay batons and boots among others for the all-round development of sports in the school.

He disclosed that the students of the school had emerged as the 1st position in the Indomie total students’ competition for Senior Secondary schools in the FCT.

The principal commended the FCT Education Secretariat as well as the FCT Education Board for promoting sports across the schools in the Territory.

Peoples Daily reports that at the end of the competition, Wupa House emerged as the 1st position, while Gurara House and Abuja House took the 2nd and the 3rd positions respectively.
