AFCON: Song misses out on Cameroon squad

Date:

Cameroon international midfielder, Alexandre Song, has been dropped from his country’s Afcon 2015 squad.

This is just hours after it was widely reported that he was due to inform his club, West Ham United, of his desire to play in next month’s tournament in Equatorial Guinea.

Already the Hammers will be without the Senegalese pair of Diafra Sakho and Cheikhou Kouyate, who has confirmed their departures for the Africa’s biggest football tournament.

The departure of Song will make it a third key player in Sam Allardyce’s team to join up with their national team for the 2015 Afcon.

The Cameroon FA, FECAFOOT, announced their final team on Wednesday in Yaounde, and also on their official Twitter account. Here’s the midfield seven the country is taking to the Afcon.
