Ajayi assumes duty as New PTDF Executive Secretary

The Seventh Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF), Mr Olufemi Ajayi took over the affairs of the Fund with a commitment to build on the achievements of his predecessor and ensure that more value is added to the transformation agenda of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan through the projects and programmes of the Fund.

A statement by the Head, Press and External Relations, Kalu Otisi Esq quoted Mr Olufemi Ajayi to have promised to continue with the reform processes initiated by his predecessor.

He assured staff of PTDF that, his coming will not lead to any earth-shaking development that will negatively affect them so long as they exhibit greater commitment to the service delivery of the Fund.

“There is no cause for anybody who is committed to the mandate of the agency to be worried, we are brothers and sisters and i believe that, we are all committed to the transformation agenda of Mr president and also the overall development of our country. I will rely on those of you who have been in the agency to give me the necessary support to move the agency forward” On the challenges of funding, the new Executive Secretary said his administration will engage more advocacy at the political level to ensure that funds due to the agency are released as and when due. This is in view of the critical nature of the programmes and projects and their impact on the Nigerian oil and gas industry.

The former Executive Secretary, Dr Oluwole Oluleye congratulated his successor, Mr Olufemi Ajayi whom he described as a well-heeled technocrat whose multi-disciplinary credentials have been tapped in various capacities for the service of the nation.

He said most of the challenges confronting the Fund were gradually being addressed with the active support of the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke, he wished him a successful tenure in office.
