Allege ‘fake agency’: Gbajabiamila responds to ICPC invitation – Lawyer

The Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, Monday, responded to the invitation of the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) over the ongoing investigation into PFIPC, alleged to be a fake agency

This was contained in a statement signed by his lawyer, Jiti Ogunye

Principal Counsel, Jiti Ogunye Chambers on Monday.

According to Ogunye, Gbajabiamila, who got the ICPC office by 3pm, Monday afternoon, gave his testimony, responded to questions accordingly, and returned to his duty post.

The statement by Gbajabiamila’s lawyer reads: “In full cooperation with the ICPC acting as directed by the President of Nigeria, I hereby confirm that my client, Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to the President of Nigeria, responded to the invitation of the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) and appeared at about 15:00hrs on Monday, July 20, 2026, as part of the ongoing investigation into the activities of the ‘PFIPC’ fake agency, among others.

“My client gave his testimony, responded to questions accordingly, and has returned to his duty post.

The ICPC Spokesperson, John Odey, also confirmed the development in a chat with the News Agency of Nigeria on Monday in Abuja.

Odey said that Gbajabiamila was not arrested by the commission, stressing that he came on his own and willingly volunteered information sought by investigators.

“He was indeed at our office this afternoon. He was invited and he came, he volunteered a statement and left,

“We did not detain him, he was not arrested, he came on his own willingly, he gave his statement and left. He was cooperating with the investigations”
