Justice John Tsoho of the Federal High Court Abuja, yesterday, fixed February 13, for Chief Victor Uwajeh, to appear before him and take his plea on charges bordering on forgery, impersonation and fraud or face arrest.
The Federal Government, had filed charges against the Uwajeh for allegedly trying to obtain money through fraudulent means against a serving senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District, Senator Andy Uba.
The court had fixed yesterday’s date to enable Uwajeh take his plea, but he was absent in court.
Following his absent in court, Justice Tsoho ordered he appeared before him on the new date.
Uwajeh, who is a private investigator, had earlier, dragged Senator Andy Uba, to court over alleged refusal to pay the sum of £1.9 million debt he allegedly owed him.
Following Police thorough investigations based on the petition Senator Uba wrote to the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Ibrahim Idris, the Police investigations indicted him (Uwajeh).
Consequently, the Federal Government filed charges against the Plaintiff before Justice Tsoho of the Federal High Court Abuja.
At the last proceedings before the Federal Government’s charges, presiding judge, Justice Sylvester Origi, who is handling Uwajeh’s suit, said that the matter could not proceed as the counsel to the plaintiff asked the court to adjourn the case.
The counsel submitted that the adjournment will enable all the parties settle out of court which Senator UBA insisted that he is not disposed to the arrangement urging the court to do the needful.
The judge further adjourned the suit on the instance of the plaintiff (Uwajeh) for the outcome of the out of court settlement and report back to the court .
In the suit, Uwajeh accused Senator Uba of being an impostor in relation to his academic credentials which the Police investigation revealed that the information he provided was fraudulently obtained.
According to him, Senator Uba, engaged his services for an assignment in United Kingdom Border Agency and in the United States of America.
He, further claimed that Senator Uba gave him the data pages of both his American passport and Nigerian passport, to make the work easier for him.
