Nasarawa State Governor, Umaru Tanko Almakura yesterday launched the 2019 fertilizer distribution to farmers in the state.
This is just as he cautioned local government chairmen against fertilizer diversion.
The event which took place at Kwandere town of Lafia North Development Area had in attendance farmers, traditional rulers and top government functionaries.
According to him, “The State Government procured 150 trucks for 2019 farming season for farmers across the state. I implored you farmers to patronize the fertilizer at your respective local government area.
Each bag would be sold at the rate of 4,000 naira to one peasant farmer the sales with continue form May to July.
He continued, “I urged you all chairmen of local government councils to ensure equitable distribution of fertilizers. Every community in the State should avail themselves of the gesture.
Governor Almakura who frowned at the illegal felling of trees and typical fishing urged citizens to shun the trend.
