Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) in the FCT, Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, who was recently re-elected for a second term, has promised to focus more on the developmental projects at the grassroots level for the sake of the people who voted for him.
He also thanked the residents of the area for the support given to him to win the February 21st, 2026 Area Council election.
Maikalangu stated this while speaking to newsmen after he received the Certificate of Returns from the FCT INEC, said the residents manly rural dwellers would be given 80% consideration in terms of projects execution.
He further pointed out that his administration would not hesitate to spread the dividends of democracy to the twelve political wards of the Area Council.
Also, AMAC Chairman-elect said his leadership would carry everybody along including his political opponents who contested with him for overall development of the area.
He, however, expressed gratitude to the staff of AMAC, the staff of the Local Education Authority (LEA), the market women and artisans for being supportive during the election.
Maikalangu commended the FCT minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike for providing a conductive atmosphere at the poll, pointing out that he will not disappoint the minister.
