In line with the direct directives of the Executive Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, the council’s environment department has launched an intensive waste evacuation exercise across the Karu community.
The cleanup operation was led on the ground by the Supervisory Councillor on Environment, Hon. Hassim Angama, alongside the Head of Environment Department, Hajia Hannatu Shaibu, and their operational personnel.
The rapid intervention aims to clear accumulated refuse, eliminate illegal dumpsites, and mitigate public health hazards in the area.
Speaking during the exercise, Hon. Angama emphasized that the quick deployment reflects the administration’s commitment to maintaining clean, safe, and sustainable surroundings across all communities within the area council.
“The swift response underlines the administration’s unwavering resolve to eliminate illegal dumpsites, restore environmental sanitation, and safeguard public health within the council,” Angama stated.
The exercise forms part of AMAC’s broader environmental sanitation campaign to ensure proper waste management and prevent environmental degradation across the Federal Capital Territory.
