The Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), of the FCT, Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, has urged residents of the council to spread the gospel of love, tolerance and peaceful co-existence, as they celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
In his 2023 Christmas message, Maikalangu, congratulated residents, particularly the Christians on the spiritual occasion, noting that it calls for sober reflection as well as emulating the exemplary life of Jesus Christ.
He enjoined the entire residents of the FCT to rededicate themselves to the service of God and humanity to make Nigeria a better place, during and after the festive period.
According to a statement from Senior Special Assistant Media and Public Affairs to AMAC Chairman, Kingsley Madaki, residents are implored to continue to be good neighbours to their fellow residents, irrespective of religious beliefs, specifically advised them to make a firm commitment to selfless service to the growth and development of Nigeria.
It stated that Maikalangu, however noted that despite the current difficulties confronting the council and the entire nation, a new dawn is about to set in the country.
He therefore urged residents to pray for the success and support of the FCT Minister, Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike for all the massive job he is doing in the entire FCT and pray that almighty God grant him more wisdom to succeed.
“I will continue to discharge my statutory responsibility to all residents of the council, especially, in the protection of lives and property”, he stressed.
