AMAC Press Corps honour Council Chairman

The Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) Press Corps, has conferred merit award on the Executive Chairman of the Area Council, Hon. Abdullahi Adamu Candido for his outstanding performance.

The other people who received the awards from the Area Council Press Corps are; Mrs Patience Olaloye (Divisional Head of Information), James Sunday Olusola (Audit), Jibreel Baban Goshi (Press Secretary) Chief Dayo Lawal (SA Media) and Mr Jacob Tunde.

Presenting the awards to the personalities during the second day of the Media Retreat organized by the Area Council with the theme “ AMAC Valedictory: Appraising Our Legacies, Securing Gains of the Future” which took place at Sawalino Hotel, Keffi, Nasarawa State on Friday, the Chairman of the Press Corps, Mr Peter Ireh said the awards were given the recipients based on their contributions to humanities.

Speaking on the “Appraising Our Legacies” during the opening ceremony of the Media Retreat on Thursday, the Divisional Head of Information of the Council, Mrs Patience Olaloye who was the Resource Person, said the Candido’s Administration had carried out developmental projects in the area.

Olaloye, however, noted that when the Chairman assumed office he had been pursuing policies and programmes aimed at moving the Area Council to the next level and commended the Chairman for his laudable achievements.

Also speaking at the final day of the Retreat, the Executive Chairman of the Council, Candido expressed satisfaction over the infrastructural facilities put in place by his administration so far.

The Chairman, therefore, applauded the Area Council Press corps for their efforts in pubicising the activities of the Council.

On his part, the Head of Department in charge of Education in AMAC, Dr Sherif Ibrahim, hailed the administration of Candido for maintaining good relationships with all the Head of Departments of the Council and said Candido had done a lot in terms of projects execution.
