Former Caretake Committee Chairman of the Anambra State Football Association, ANSFA, Chukwuemeka Okeke has been disqualified from contesting for the chairmanship election of the FA.
Mr Okeke was disqualified from the position on Monday after being found guilty of violations of extant laws and status guiding the conduct of the election.
In a ruling made available to Tuesday, the ANSFA Election Appeal Committee disqualified Mr Okeke after it was discovered that he singlehandedly picked some members of the delegates to vote in the October 30, 2020 election in the state.
The Appeal Committee also found him guilty of being the chairman of a Nationwide League One, NLO club chairman, Aspire Football Club.
The ruling titled “The Decision Of The Appeal Committee Over The Petition Against Barr. Chukwuemeka F. Okeke,” and signed by four members of the Appeal Committee including its chairman, Barr. Okey Abazu and Secretary, Onyedika Chijioke also found Mr Okeke guilty of being an intermediary as his name appeared in serial No. 279 as NFF Licensed Football Intermediary with registration No. NFF/INTD/01/019/083, which offends NFF Integrity initiative Groular Number 1, dated 1/02/2017.
The committee found that he was instrumental in the registration of fifteen (15) delegates who will vote during the Friday election.
This was supported by evidence rendered by Prince Michael Mbaezue of Jimbaz Football Club Ihiala.
Latest report indicates that there is palpable tension within the football circle in the state.
