APC leaders in Kebbi reject guber aspirant

It was a Melo drama today at the Kebbi State All Progressive Congress (APC) office as the party leadership disowned the candidature and declaration of Ibrahim Mera as one of the party aspirant, aspiring for the position of the Governorship in the state.
The Aspirant who was at the party office to express his readiness and interest in contesting for the Governorship position against the seating Governor, Atiku Abubakar Bagudu was rejected and denied by the party leadership.
Speaking on behalf of the party chairman, the party state financial secretary, Aliyu Bature, said that the party members was not aware of his mission, while urging him to go back and meet his ward and local government party chairmen for their recognition, as well as proper presentation.
“We don’t know any candidate than Buhari has a President, and Atiku Bagudu as Governor for second term bids, this is what we concluded and endorsed last year, then why bring another person again to contest for the Governorship”, he added.
Mera who was a former retired Controller-General of Nigeria Customs Service and a younger brother to the Emir of Arugungu, was at the party office with thousands of supporter, but was denied and disgraced by the party officials, as he was directed to suspend his mission over the Governorship positioned because there is no vacancy to that effect.
In his response, the gubernatorial aspirant, Ibrahim Mera, said his mission was to test is popularity, adding that if he loses, his is ready to take it in good faith and remain a strong member of APC in the state.
