The All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed deep shock and sadness over the sudden death of the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo.

National Publicity Secretary (NPS) of the party, Barr. Felix Morka in a statement on Monday described the late deputy governor as a devoted and compassionate leader who gave his all in the service of his people.

“We extend our heartfelt condolences to the State Governor, Senator Douye Diri and the good people of Bayelsa State over this massive loss.

“Senator Ewhrudjakpo was a fine, versatile, devoted and compassionate leader with a towering record of distinguished public service. A grassroots politician and renowned peace-builder, he was widely recognized for his contributions to intra and inter community conflict management and reconciliation, fostering stabilization of local communities and protecting vital national assets in the state.

“His passing leaves a significant void, not only in Bayelsa State but across Nigeria’s broader public service community.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and political associates, the government and good people of Bayelsa State during this difficult time.

“May the soul of our dearly departed Deputy Governor find eternal rest in the Lord. Amen”, the APC concluded.
