Deputy National Chairman (South) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ben Nwoye, has welcomed the endorsement of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Peter Mbah for second terms in office by leaders and stakeholders from Enugu East Senatorial District.
Speaking at a gathering held at Okpara Square in Enugu, Nwoye described the endorsement as a reflection of confidence in the leadership of both men and a recognition of the need to sustain ongoing development initiatives.
The APC chieftain noted that the event drew a broad spectrum of influential figures, including elder statesmen, political leaders and community stakeholders, whom he said demonstrated a shared commitment to political stability and progress.
Nwoye particularly commended Governor Mbah’s administration, arguing that the governor’s infrastructure projects and development programmes have attracted support beyond partisan boundaries.
According to him, the growing acceptance of Mbah across different political interests underscores public approval of his governance approach and developmental agenda.
He also linked the endorsement to Enugu State’s longstanding governorship zoning arrangement, which he credited with promoting inclusiveness, reducing political tensions and ensuring equitable power sharing among the state’s three senatorial districts.
The APC deputy national chairman urged stakeholders to continue preserving the culture of political cooperation and stability that has characterised the state since the return to democratic rule.
He maintained that continuity in leadership would provide an opportunity to consolidate achievements already recorded at both the federal and state levels while advancing new development initiatives.
The endorsement gathering attracted political leaders, traditional rulers, religious figures and community representatives, many of whom voiced support for the continued leadership of President Tinubu and Governor Mbah ahead of the next electoral cycle.
