As political consultations, permutations and possible alliances by political parties participating in the 2023 general election continue, the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Peter Umeadi met with the Presidential Candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, in Abuja on Monday.
A statement issued by the National Publicity Secretary of NNPP, Agbo Major said in attendance were the NNPP National Chairman, Professor Rufai Ahmed Alkali and the party’s Deputy National Chairman, AVM John Chris Ifemeje (rtd).
He said the leaders reviewed the political situation in the country and the need for free, fair, credible, transparent, peaceful, inclusive and generally acceptable elections that will further deepen the nation’s emerging democracy.
Major said Kwankwaso has been consulting with national leaders, traditional and religious leaders, and eminent Nigerians with a view to building a new Nigeria anchored on justice, equity, infrastructure, education, industrialization, security, prosperity and abundant delivery of dividends of democracy which only NNPP can offer if voted into office.
“A grassroots politician, Engr. Kwankwaso has met with former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Generals Ibrahim Babangida and Abdulsalami Abubakar. Others include Governor Nyesom Wike, elder statesman, Chief Olu Falae, former Governors Donald Duke and Otumba Gbenga Daniel.
“The nationwide consultation continues as the party is poised to win the upcoming presidential election with the support of Nigerians and like-minded political parties. From every indication a new Nigeria is possible with NNPP. We are all in it together”, the statement said.
