Apostle Yakubu Yusuf, Senior Pastor of the House of Purpose Ministry in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, has urged men to recognize the importance of humility and dependence on God in their journey to achieve dominion in life, as emphasized in the Bible.
He made this assertion during his sermon at the 2025 Men’s Convention celebration held in Kaduna yesterday.

According to him, as human beings, men have been granted dominion over the earth to rule and reign with purpose and intention.
However, he emphasized that this dominion is not merely about exercising power and control, but about doing so with wisdom and discernment.

Drawing inspiration from Proverbs 8:15-16, the clergyman highlighted the significance of wisdom in leadership and governance. He noted that when individuals humble themselves before God and acknowledge their dependence on Him, they open themselves to receiving wisdom and guidance.

Apostle Yakubu lamented that many of the problems currently affecting families in the country stem from a lack of wisdom in decision-making.

He encouraged the congregation to seek wisdom as they navigate the complexities of life, asserting that wisdom is the cornerstone of success.

He explained that wisdom is not just about acquiring knowledge, but also about applying it in daily life to make informed decisions.

“One of the key benefits of reigning in dominion through wisdom is that it enables us to navigate complex situations with ease and confidence. Proverbs 21:22 states, ‘A wise man scaleth the city of the mighty, and casteth down the strength of the confidence thereof.’ When we operate with wisdom, we can overcome obstacles and challenges, achieving our goals and objectives,” he said.

The apostle emphasized that wisdom is not only a means to an end but an end in itself, describing it as the ability to discern right from wrong and make decisions that align with our values and principles. By prioritizing wisdom, we open ourselves to a world of possibilities and opportunities.

“As we seek wisdom, we must also be committed to applying it in our everyday lives. This requires discipline, self-control, and a willingness to learn from our mistakes. When we embrace this approach, we will find that wisdom guides us on the path to success,” he added.

He tasked the men and the entire congregation with the understanding that wisdom is not merely about personal success, but also about contributing to the greater good, both as heads of families and as members of the larger community. “When we are wise, we can use our knowledge and skills to make a positive impact on the world around us.”

Apostle Yakubu emphasized that one of the primary benefits of wisdom is its ability to enable us to make informed decisions. With wisdom, we can discern what is right and wrong, making choices that align with our values and principles. This capacity enables us to avoid pitfalls and make meaningful progress toward our goals.

“Wisdom also aids us in building strong relationships. With wisdom, we can navigate complex social situations smoothly and foster connections based on trust, respect, and understanding.”

Elder Franklin Dauda, President of the Church Men’s Fellowship, expressed gratitude to the church leadership, particularly to Apostle Yakubu Yusuf, for the opportunity to celebrate the Men’s Convention.

He assured that the men in the ministry would rise and reign in dominion as outlined in the Bible. The Men’s Fellowship also extended support to several widows in the church as part of the convention’s celebration.
