The Emir of Kano, Alh. Aminu Ado Bayero, has described the appointment of Kayode Egbetokun as acting inspector general of police as well deserved, considering his experiences he obtained in his career in Police.
The Emir noted that the appointment would give the IGP confidence to achieve success in discharge of his responsibilities for moving the country forward.
Bayero stated this when the acting IGP paid him a courtesy visit at his palace yesterday, according to a statement by Abubakar Balarabe Kofar-Naisa, Chief Press Secretary to Kano Emirate Council.
The Emir said police play a vital role in protection of lives and properties of the teeming populace, charging him on the need to fear Almighty Allah in the discharge of his assignment.
He also assured full support of the emirate council towards policing in the state.
Earlier, the acting IGP assured his command of his resolve to work positively to move the country forward.
Kayode assured of his resolve to protect lives and properties of the people in the country.
He also told the emir that he was in the state to attend the passing out of police Academy and solicited the Emir’s support and cooperation.
