The All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairmanship aspirant in Egor Local Government Area of Edo state, Mr. Efe Stewart on Monday morning charged to court by the state government.
But, he was returned back to Police custody few hours after security personnel brought him to an Evbuoriaria Magistrate court in Benin City.
The alleged inconsistency in the charges preferred against him by the state government, delayed his arraignment in court on Monday morning.
Recall that Efe Stewart was whisked away by Operatives of the Department of state Security service (DSS) after he personally protested the alleged imposition of Ms. Eghe Ogbemudia as the Candidate during last Wednesday party primary election by few leaders of APC.
In the meantime, the Peoples Democratic Party on Monday said it has boycotted the Local Government elections which the Edo state Independent national Electoral Commission (EDSIEC had scheduled for March 3rd 2018.
It said it had approached the court to determine whether the state House of Assembly was right to reduce the notice for the poll from 90 Days stipulated in the 1999 Constitution as amended to 45 Days.
