Suspected armed Tiv bandits yesterday morning laid siege on Giza, headquarters of Giza development area, with five persons reportedly killed.

Reports indicate that the armed Tiv militia, numbering in hundreds, attacked Giza early morning but were repelled by the combined efforts of the police and a team of mobile policemen.

Police authorities confirmed that five people comprising of three of the attackers and two community members were killed in the early dawn attack.
