Kano State House of Assembly has suspended the chairman of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-corruption Commission, Muhyi Magaji Rimingado for alleged violation of the public financial management law.
Rimingado’s suspension followed his refusal to accept an accountant officer posted to the commission by the Office of the Accountant General of the state.
The suspension also followed a petition recieved from the office of the Accountant General, read by the speaker of the assembly, Engineer Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari during plenary on Monday.
According to Chidari, the petition alleged that the chairman of the anti corruption agency rejected a new accountant posted to the Commission by the office of the accountant general which is clear indication of violating the rule of law.

Members representing Warawa, Sumaila, Rogo, Kiru, Gwarzo and Bagwai were in the opinion that, the suspension of the anti corruption boss will give the committee the previlaged to conduct the investigation successfully.
The house unanimously agreed to suspend Barrister Muhyi for one month while members of public petition committee, anti corruption committee, public accounts committee were asked to investigate and report to the house within two weeks for appropriate action.
Recall that Rimingado has recently launched a probe at the state Ministry of Works and Housing over some contracts.
