A financial consultant and author, Sir Onyebuchi Anih, has urged Nigerians to embrace truthfulness, contentment and genuine happiness while calling on government at all levels to deploy technology in addressing the country’s security challenges.
Anih made the call during the official unveiling of his book, Living in Heaven on Earth, held in Abuja over the weekend.
Speaking at the event, the author said lasting peace and national development can only be achieved when citizens live according to divine principles, care for one another and support efforts to build a secure society.
He stressed that leaders should leverage modern technology to combat insecurity, noting that effective deployment of technological tools would significantly reduce criminal activities across the country.
“We were created by God to be happy. True happiness comes from inner contentment, not from material possessions or power. Heaven is a spiritual reality that can be experienced here on earth through obedience to God’s commandments and living a fulfilled life,” he said.
Explaining the inspiration behind the book, Anih recalled reading an inscription in a friend’s office many years ago which stated that people often spend time quarrelling and shortening their lives instead of making friends and living happily.
According to him, the message inspired him to write a book that encourages people to pursue inner peace, purpose and lasting fulfillment.
Reviewing the book, Rev. Fr. Kenneth Agwu described Living in Heaven on Earth as a practical guide to experiencing peace, purpose and fulfillment in everyday life rather than waiting for the afterlife.
He said the book presents heaven as an inner spiritual reality where individuals can enjoy deep appreciation, contentment and freedom from the stress and anxieties of everyday living.
According to Agwu, the publication is “not merely a book to be read but a blueprint to be lived,” adding that it challenges readers to embrace a transformed life rooted in faith and inner peace.
The Chief Launcher, Hon. Joseph Erik Ameh, who is also the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Rail Strikers Security Services Limited and a senatorial candidate from Kogi State, commended the author for contributing to knowledge and moral development through literature.
He encouraged Nigerians to cultivate a reading culture, describing books as vital tools for acquiring knowledge and making informed decisions.
“A person without information is disadvantaged. Reading broadens the mind and equips people with the knowledge needed to contribute meaningfully to society,” he said.
On the country’s security situation, Ameh urged Nigerians to complement government efforts by remaining vigilant and reporting suspicious activities to security agencies.
He noted that many security breaches could be prevented if citizens embraced the principle of “see something, say something” instead of engaging in blame games after incidents occur.
He further appealed to Nigerians to remain hopeful, perform their civic responsibilities and work collectively towards building a peaceful and secure nation.
