From Uche Nnorom, Makurdi

Six persons were brutally injured in Antsa village, Makurdi, Benue state, following attack by suspected armed bandits.
Antsa is the community that host the Joseph Saarwuan Tarka University, Makurdi.
According to a resident of the area who pleaded anonymity, the attackers stormed the community at about 1: am while some people who usually close late were still selling drinks outside and cooking indomie.
“When they came, they started slaughtering people. They brutally cut their body and they have been hospitalized.
“About six persons had their bodies cut. One had his finger cut and it was seen on the ground.
“We also heard they went to CAPS to inflict injury on some persons there. Soldiers came that night shooting and they ran away.
It was learnt that angry youths blocked the road for hours, burning tyres.
Recalled that in March 2024, Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia had given a 2 weeks ultimatum to herders in the State to vacate but they have surrounded the State.
