Bandits kill 19 in Zamfara fresh attacks

Gunmen suspected to be recalcitrant bandits have stormed Dansadau Emirate under Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State killing 19 people including a popular local militia, Nura Dankurma.
Narrating the incident, an eye witness identified as Muhammadu Lawali, told journalists that, the bandits have blocked Gusau to Dansadau road where they randomly shoot at any moving vehicle in the course of which they killed three passengers.
Lawali said, the bandits had moved to Malele village in Matunji district of Dansadau where members of the community encountered them, “In the exchange of fire that lasted for three hours, the bandits have killed eight people, burnt two trucks and carted away cattle.”
He further narrated that, the bandits had proceeded to Babban Kwari village in the same Matunji district of Dansadau Emirate and killed eight other persons, burnt down four Canter trucks and 16 motorcycles belonging to the communities during the attack.
Those were killed by the bandits according to Lawali Dansadau includes, Mamuda Maharazu, Muazu Baushi, Muhammadu S/Daura, A. H Sani mutunji Mai unguwa Ande Babban kwari, Bukar Idi, Friday Godi.
Others are: Sirajo Manu, Nafi,u Lawali Malele, Nura Kurm, Rabi’u Mahalo, Dantani Sani, Malam Usman Na,ibi Babban kwari, Malam Murtala babban kwari, Ashiru kabiru babban kwari and Fatima Dantsoho respectively.
He said, already the deceased have been buried according to Islamic rite led by the Emir of Dansadau, Alhaji Hussaini Umar on Wednesday.
Confirming the incidence, the State Commissioner for Security and Home Affairs, Abubakar Muhammad Dauran, said the information available to his office has revealed that seven people were reportedly killed.
“We are aware that, bandits from neighboring Niger and Kaduna states were dislodged by the ongoing aggrieved operations carried by the Nigerian army in synergy with other security agencies,” he said.
