Bandits kill village head in Niger

The Village Head of Mulo Community in Mashegu local government area of Niger state, Mallam Usman Garba has been gruesomely killed by terrorists after he was abducted.

State Commissioner for Internal Security, Emmanuel Umar confirmed this during a security briefing with Journalists at government house Minna.

Umar stated that the terrorists had invaded the Mulo community last Thursday and abducted four people including the village head whose corpse was left behind while the terrorists continued their journey with the three others.

The Commissioner said that the state Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello has directed all security agencies to come out in full force to flush out the terrorists and completely eradicate insecurity in the local government areas.

Umar urged communities to liaise with the security agencies around them and draw their attention to anything that will cause a threat to the lives of the people to ensure peaceful festivity.
