The Progressive Circle of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bauchi State chapter, on Thursday revealed that the group was formed to promote politics without bitterness not only among party members but also in the larger political community.
Chairman of the circle, Alhaji Surajo Dada stated this in an interview with journalists, adding that the group was also working towards ensuring the survival and sustainability of democracy in Bauchi State.
To actualise this, Dada informed that the Progressive Circle would identify credible people and encourage the party to give them its tickets to vie for legislative and executive seats in order for the APC to make a difference in the state in the next round of general election in 2023.
The chairman said the Progressive Circle would not only become prominent in the scheme of politics in the state but will also remain as a political pressure group which would serve as a check on government.
According to him, “We will do all it legally takes to actualise the dream of becoming a prominent and formidable force that shall be seen and regarded as an indispensable factor in determining APC’s victory in any elections in Bauchi State.
“We will also constitute ourselves as a political pressure group that shall be obliged to objectively checkmate the affairs of any government,” he said.
He promised that the group will remain peaceful and law-abiding in its activities and called on the youth of the state to eschew thuggery during and after electioneering processes for the state to remain peaceful.
