The Emir of Ningi in Bauchi state Alhaji Yunusa Mohammed Danyaya has warned his subjects against taking laws into their hands and reprisals in his domain.
Danyaya gave the warning yesterday when he addressed Diwa Community in Ningi local Government area that was attacked recently by some armed men when he paid them a sympathy visit in the community .
He advised all communities in his domain to desist from taking laws into their hands by carrying out jungle justice on anyone and to shun reprisal killing in resolving any differences in the communities.
“We all understand the trauma you people went through and we sympathize with last week Monday ugly incident when some armed hoodlums about 700 of them on over 300 motorcycles come to attacked your community and the security threats pose to the surrounding communities.
“I therefore urge you not to take law into your hands by shuning jungle justice and evils reprisals all you need is to defend your territories, properties and lives,” he said
Emir said that the traditional leaders and state government will not fold their arms and watch some miscreants undermine law and order in the communities.
