Bauchi govt disburses N66m to LG health centres

Bauchi State Government has approved N66 million for disbursement to sixteen Health Facilities Centers in Dass Local Government Area of the state as investment subsidy, under Nigerian States Health Investment Project, NSHIP.
Our correspondent gathered that half of the money is to be used to buy equipment and conduct minor renovations in the health facilities while the remaining fifty percent would be shared among staff of the health facilities based on their performance.
The State Chairman Primary Health Care Development Agency Adamu Ibrahim Gamawa made the disclosure to journalists after a steering committee meeting held in Dass local council secretariat, saying the money would be distributed based on the individual performance of the health facilities.
Gamawa said that the seventeen million dollars project was yet to spend ten percent of the total amount.
“The money is for the fourth quarter of the year 2017 which is in addition to the earlier disbursed seventy four million Naira for first, second and third quarters of the year,” he said
Meanwhile, the State Project Coordinator Dr. Adamu Muhammad assured that the project would continue to support the health facilities with the subsidies based on their outstanding performance.
In his remarks, the Dass Local Council’s Director Primary Health Care, Alhaji Sulaiman Abdu Kirfi called on health facilities managers to redouble their efforts to ensure success of the project.
Sulaiman Kirfi assured that his team would intensify supportive supervision to ensure success of the project.
