Governor Aminu Bello Masari has disclosed that the government will employ 5,000 new teachers in the first quarter of 2018.
Governor Masari made the disclosure yesterday while swearing in the new Commissioner of Education, Professor Badamasi Charanchi.
He noted that the recruitment of the new teachers would enhance teaching and learning in the state schools and generate employment.
Masari lamented that up to now his directives for directors in the state ministry of education to go back to classroom has not been respected.
“In the ministry of health, directors who are consultants attend to patients in hospitals. Therefore those in the ministry of education must do same,” he added.
The governor reminded the new appointee that he was specifically appointed to consolidate the gains so far recorded in the education sector.
He further disclosed that 80 percent of the state schools were renovated by the state government, adding that his administration would continue to accord priority to the education sector.
